In 2003, the only girls' school in the village of Mohammad Agha in the province of Logar was attacked during the night and burned to the ground. Journalists taking part in a workshop in the village covered the story, and their international trainer raised money to help rebuild the school, as well as a library. In December 2009, the trainer returned to the village and took this photo of the young girls writing their school exams. When she asked them what they wanted to be when they grew up, they replied ‘doctor, engineer and television news presenter’.
